“(Stanley) Fischer’s controversial attributes – such as overhauling how U.S. aid and trade packages are delivered to Israel – have been mostly ignored… the doors of federal government have long swung open for Israel-lobby appointees focusing most – if not all – their energies on advancing the interests of a foreign state… As Bank of Israel governor, Stanley Fischer played a central role in coordinating the implementation of AIPAC-generated sanctions against Iran.”
“It has been suggested in some quarters that the present impasse over the U.S. government shut-down is the result of Israel having its many political lackies on Capitol Hill “punish” Obama for his intransigence on Iran, and that may well be the case.” -JG.
“Pro-Israel groups had largely kept a low profile on Syria… they had generally wanted the debate to focus on U.S. national security rather than how a decision to attack Syria might help Israel, a reflection of their sensitivity to being seen as rooting for the United States to go to war.”
“There are thousands of sayanim around the world… You have at your disposal a non-risk recruitment system that actually gives you a pool of millions of Jewish people to tap from outside your own borders… Katsas in the stations are in charge of the sayanim, and most active sayanim will be visited by a katsa once every three months or so, which for the katsa usually means between two and four face-to-face meetings a day with sayanim, along with numerous telephone conversations.” – Victor Ostrovsky, “By Way of Deception”.
“The United States has assumed the role of protecting power for Israel, which depends heavily on the ability of American Jews to mobilize subsidies, diplomatic and legal protection, weapons transfers, and other forms of material support in Washington. And while it should be noted that Ms. Hsu declines to identify her informant, the story rings true, and provides a credible explanation for the enormous stranglehold that Israel has over the United States.
According to an article by Andrew Sullivan writing in “The Atlantic” on April 20th, 2009: “ Rep. Jane Harman … was overheard on an NSA wiretap telling a suspected Israeli agent that she would lobby the Justice Department to reduce espionage-related charges against two officials of the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee, the most powerful pro-Israel organization in Washington. Harman was recorded saying she would “waddle into” the AIPAC case “if you think it’ll make a difference,” according to two former senior national security officials familiar with the NSA transcript…
“Until now Israel has been content to mobilize its powerful lobby and media assets to apply pressure from the shadows, using political contributions and diplomacy of a covert type so that Tel Aviv’s involvement could be deniable. That is no longer the case.”
