U.S. police forces declining rapidly, cannot cope with lesser criminal activities

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

If Canada’s economy enters a further decline, this kind of thing could be in store for us.  And unlike American citizens, we have no constitutional right to own firearms, and are in worse trouble than the criminals if we use them to defend ourselves and our property.  –Jeff Goodall

“If you come home to find your house burglarized and you call, we’re not coming….police told residents there may be delays or no response at all to some calls, including vandalism.”

Kosher trains??? – Ha’aretz editorial

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

“The train was built to serve everyone…it is not a problem to declare every third or fourth car a mehadrin [super-kosher] car.”

“the Haredim see segregation as a means of imposing their way of life on society as a whole.”

The religious coercion train

Catering to religious demands for gender segregation on the new Jerusalem light rail is a move in the wrong direction.

Toronto School Board pilloried for carrying “The Shepherd’s Grand-Daughter” critical of IDF and settlers

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

I have not read the book in question, but I am happy to rely on the criticisms contained in the article below.  It is therefore a ‘given’ that the book is both realistic, and solidly grounded in fact.

The TDSB is right on this issue, and I believe that older children should be shown viewpoints other than those permeating the mass media.  The Board’s function includes facilitating enlightenment, and freeing the minds of their students, not indoctrinating them into believing propaganda and untruths.

In my opinion, the Board should take a firm, principled stand, and not buckle under to Jewish threats and intimidation.

There are many items in my ‘Israel/Middle East’ category describing IDF and Jewish settler abuses of Palestinians in the Occupied Territories, frequently taken from Jewish and Israeli sources.

Israeli intelligence operations in the United States

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

“FBI sources indicate that the increase in Mossad activity is a major problem, particularly when Israelis are posing as U.S. government officials, but they also note that there is little they can do to stop it as the Justice Department refuses to initiate any punitive action or prosecutions of the Mossad officers who have been identified as involved in the illegal activity.”

Death-drone delusions

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

The following article by Matt Gurney of the National Post is illuminating in several respects, not least in its misplaced concern that knowledgeable observers may consider that Iran’s new surveillance/bomber drones will have a significant impact on the Middle-East balance of power.

The drones, together with new coastal submarines, missile and torpedo “e-boats” and anti-ship missiles, indicate little more than an enhanced ability to cause immense Western grief at the gas pumps, and that is all that they are likely to do; Iran cannot realistically threaten much more than dire economic consequences if attacked.

Iran starts production of new missile assault boats

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

MOSCOW, August 23 (RIA Novosti)

Iran has launched production of the Zolfaqar and Seraj 1 class missile boats, Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said on Monday.

“The Seraj 1 boat is a high-speed rocket-launcher designed for tropical areas,” the ISNA news agency quoted Vahidi as saying. “It is fitted with advanced indigenous communication capabilities.”

The Zolfaqar missile-carrying boat “is a surveillance boat designed for quick attacks on enemy ships, it is outfitted with rocket launchers and machine guns,” he said.

The boats will be deployed along Iran’s coastline and on the Strait of Hormuz shipping route, the minister said.

Religious extremists moving into the Israeli mainstream

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

Such evil is difficult, if not impossible, to comprehend in the modern world.

Israel has at least 200 nuclear weapons, and the means to deliver them to most of the world’s surface.  If so many weapons of mass destruction were to fall under the control of religious fanatics, who believe that Gentiles should be allowed to live only as slaves to the Jewish people, then nuclear war will become inevitable.

The sooner Israel deals with its fundamentalist problem the better, before the rest of the world has to act in self defence.  When push comes to shove, non-western nuclear powers will have far fewer inhibitions than we do.
