Vic Toews and ‘Lawful Access’: Deception, or incompetence?

It is utterly unacceptable that a Minister of the Crown can assure the House that his legislation would require police to obtain a warrant to obtain information on private citizen’s Internet usage, even suggesting that statements to the contrary are “complete fabrications”, when the wording of the legislation does, in fact, allow otherwise.

“In the name of promoting tolerance, race-fixated zealots exercise the most extreme intolerance, suppressing free debate and indulging in witch-hunts against anyone who dissents from their creed of multi-cultural diversity.”

Israel slaughters civilians in ‘live fire’ buffer zones

“Last year 24 people, including 5 children, were killed and 203 people, including 9 children, were injured. All these incidents occurred in the so-called ‘buffer zone’… The precise areas designated by Israel as ‘buffer zones’ are unknown and changing. Israeli policy is typically enforced with live fire. At a minimum, the ‘buffer zone’ is established at 300m from the land border, but it can extend to over 2km.”

Six Chadian soldiers killed by ivory poachers

“The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) said cross-border poaching was common during the dry season but the scale of the killings so far this year was unprecedented.”

“(The wildlife trade monitoring network) TRAFFIC has said that the spike in poaching and illegal ivory trade in Africa was a direct consequence of China’s investment drive into the continent.”
