In its news item “More Ontarians facing poverty” published recently, my local paper the Oshawa Express reports that according to the “Ontario Common Front”, the income gap between the wealthy and everyone else has grown to its greatest level since the Great Depression of the 1930s.

Canada’s childish response to Iran’s diplomatic success

On August 31st, Iran’s PRESS-TV quoted Iran’s Vice-President Reza Mir-Tajeddini as saying that “The Tehran summit changed the negative mentality of many countries about the Islamic Republic of Iran.”  The Non-Aligned Movement is over 50 years old, and Iran’s hosting of the 16th NAM summit meeting went well despite efforts by Israel and the U.S. to scuttle it by trying to deter many member states from attending.
