Chinese hackers and spies constantly stealing information

“During almost two months of monitoring last year, the researchers say they were struck by the sheer scale of the hackers’ work as data bled from one victim after the next: from oilfield services leader Halliburton Cp. (HAL) to Washington law firm Wiley Rein LLP; from a Canadian magistrate involved in a sensitive China extradition case to Kolkata-based tobacco and technology conglomerate ITC Ltd. (ITC).”

In their story “Hackers Linked to China’s Army Seen From EU to D.C.” posted in July 2012, Bloomberg tells us of a world unknown to most that involves massive and continuous organized theft of confidential economic, military and political data throughout the world.

It is a lengthy analysis, well worth the read to those who are interested.

I find it astonishing that Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper is so fawning towards the Chinese, and seems to have little if any concern about the threats posed to us by them.

On Friday, I posted Mihael Willman’s excellent article about Victor Oh, just appointed to the Canadian Senate by Harper, but about whom relatively little concrete information can be found.

In my opinion, it is high time that Harper was investigated for any evidence that he has been suborned or compromised by Chinese intelligence.  Otherwise, his actions seem reckless and unrealistically dangerous, to say the least.

Does the CSIS know anything?  And if so, will they ever tell us?

This situation is appalling.
