The following letter to the Toronto Star was published today with only two punctuation changes. To my mind this is quite unusual, and the fact that the Star would publish it indicates that people in general are becoming more aware of the pro-Israel bias of the mass media, and less tolerant of deliberate propaganda.
And now let the weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth begin…
“Gaza families flee homes as battle rages, July 23
This isn’t a ‘battle.’ It’s more like shooting frogs in a pond. You can’t whitewash Israel’s wanton slaughter of women and children this way while also quoting the comparative death toll, ‘at least 657 Palestinians and 31 Israelis.’ Get real, Toronto Star, nobody is going to buy into the idea that this is a ‘battle.’
It’s no wonder the Palestinians fight back, and more power to them.
Jeff Goodall, Oshawa”
