“Last month, I broke a story about how the Trudeau government was quietly rubber-stamping possibly dangerous refugees into Canada… Last week, I broke three news stories about how the Trudeau government had fast-tracked Syrian refugees without conducting proper background checks… Yesterday, Bruce Anderson – the well-known Liberal commenter, formerly a panelist on CBC’s At Issue, and the father of Justin Trudeau’s Director of Communications – called for my boss at the Toronto Sun to fire me. Justin Trudeau’s communication advisor, a taxpayer-funded employee of the Government of Canada, publicly endorsed Bruce Anderson’s call for me to be fired.” – Candice Malcolm.
The above is taken from the text of a mass e-mailing sent out by beleagured Toronto Sun columnist and immigration critic Candice Malcolm yesterday, which is reproduced in full below.
She wants to receive funding to pay for a part-time analyst to study immigration problems, and is soliciting recurring credit card donations of $10.00 a month for that, and to pay for related expenses including FOI requests.
My response will be to the effect that I am unable to donate in such a manner, but will gladly sent the odd amount as and when I am able; as her donation set-up is for recurring payments only, it needs to have a one-time payment option added.
Although I disagree with her statement “…the True North Initiative is the only voice promoting common sense immigration policies”, and have doubts about her “pro-integration” platform (she is married to an Iranian Muslim), I wish her all the best.
She has quite a following, and should be able to muster serious public outrage against Trudeau-lite and his immoral and partisan flooding of Canada with unwanted, unchecked, and often hostile and unassimilable “refugees”.

Here is her message:
“They’re attacking me”
I never send mass e-mails like this. But this is important.
So, I decided to send this email to everyone who has ever e-mailed me or whose e-mail has ever been sent to my inbox.
I need your help.
My name is Candice Malcolm. I am the journalist uncovering Justin Trudeau’s terrible agenda and incompetence on immigration issues.
I’ve been writing story after story on immigration-related issues in Canada, breaking news and providing my analysis on topics ranging from Maryam Monsef’s birthplace in Iran to the botched Syrian refugee program.
You may have seen the story I wrote about how some bogus refugees to Canada are getting better healthcare than Canadian senior citizens.
Or you may have even read my best-selling book Losing True North: Justin Trudeau’s Assault on Canadian Citizenship.
For two years, I’ve been exposing the dangers of Justin Trudeau’s immigration and refugee policies. Both through my work as a journalist and as the founder of the True North Initiative, Canada’s only conservative immigration think tank.
Today, I’m writing you because the Trudeau Liberals are trying to get me fired.
Last month, I broke a story about how the Trudeau government was quietly rubber-stamping possibly dangerous refugees into Canada.
Last week, I broke three news stories about how the Trudeau government had fast-tracked Syrian refugees without conducting proper background checks.
And three days ago, I was the first national journalist to write about the case where a Syrian refugee to Canada had pleaded guilty to beating his wife for half an hour with a hockey stick.
A Syrian refugee used the iconic symbol of Canadian patriotism – the hockey stick – as a weapon to bring a barbaric attitude towards women to Canada.
My columns seem to have struck a nerve.
Yesterday, Bruce Anderson – the well-known Liberal commenter, formerly a panelist on CBC’s At Issue, and the father of Justin Trudeau’s Director of Communications – called for my boss at the Toronto Sun to fire me. Justin Trudeau’s communication advisor, a taxpayer-funded employee of the Government of Canada, publicly endorsed Bruce Anderson’s call for me to be fired.
What is my crime?
Being a conservative who opposes the open-border agenda on immigration.
I have a different opinion – a more skeptical opinion – and therefore I should lose my job.
This is their favourite tactic. If they disagree with you, rather than trying to defend themselves and their failed policies, they attack you instead. They can’t defend my news articles pointing out facts, so they try to get me fired.
Imagine, for a moment, that someone in Stephen Harper’s office had called for a CBC journalist to be fired.
Can you imagine the media outrage that would have ensued?
And yet, in this case, many in the media have piled on to the anti-conservative campaign against me.
I’m not going to stand for this. I’m going to fight back. Will you help me?
Thankfully, the Toronto Sun isn’t going to fire me. They appreciate the work I do, and support my digging on immigration. But I want to double down and do more reporting to expose immigration mismanagement.
Will you commit to donating $10 a month to the True North Initiative, Canada’s only think tank standing up to the left-wing agenda on immigration?
This money will allow me to hire a part-time researcher so we can file more access to information requests and expose the partisan agenda that is putting our country’s security at risk.
Your donation will also allow me to spread True North’s message promoting reasonable, common sense immigration and security policies.
When it comes to immigration and national security issues, there is no level playing field in Canada. The debate is dominated by left-wing journalists, left-wing academics, left-wing lawyers, and left-wing activists who oppose common sense immigration rules.
Now that the Harper government has been defeated, the True North Initiative is the only voice promoting common sense immigration policies.
Let’s make sure it can thrive. Please chip in $10 a month today to help us fight back.
We’re not going to do politics. We’re just going expose the facts.
It’s us against the left-wing media, left-wing academics, and left-wing policy makers.
At the True North Initiative, we are fighting an uphill battle against the Ottawa crowd.
It isn’t a level playing field in Canada, but our common sense message resonates with Canadians who prefer sensible immigration and national security policies. Will you join our movement and help expose mismanagement and incompetence when it comes to the immigration system?
Will you help me stand up for Canada?
