The PRESS-TV article below contains some interesting and valid speculation by Gordon Duff, a Marine Vietnam veteran, combat infantryman, and Senior Editor of “Veterans Today”.
Because of serious differences between secular and ultra-Orthodox Jews there has been evidence of problems within the Israeli armed forces for years, with some units reportedly considered “unreliable”.
There is an undoubted potential for a breakdown of military authority, given a “triggering incident” such as an order to forcibly remove settlers from the Occupied Territories.
There is thus little surprise that Iran may feel that Israel’s land forces may not be up-to-par, but in my opinion it would be very foolish to expect the same of the Israeli air force.
On the false-flag front, there is plenty of reason to be suspicious that the Israelis at least had fore-knowledge of 911, and that they may well have been involved in the planning and execution of it.
The list of Israeli ‘false flag’ attacks on its allies is impressive, and can easily be researched on-line. For a good listing with historical background, see here. (Check the “Empirical Data” section in particular).
Given Israel’s past record, and need to deflect attention from its present internal problems together with increasing desperation over Iran, I would think that the possibility of their staging a spectacular terrorist event and blaming it on Iran in order to get the world to do their dirty work for them is pretty-much a given.
The Olympics would be ideal for this, as athletes from all over the world representing dozens of countries will be present, thus providing a high-profile, target-rich environment.
And yes, I do hope that I am wrong.
Iran capable of routing Israeli military if attacked: Analyst
July 10th, 2012
An American military analyst says in case of a possible military strike on Iran by Israel, Tehran will be able to rapidly rout the Israeli military which is already hit by a high rate of internal dissent.
In an article published on the Press TV website, Gordon Duff, noted that in case of an attack, the Israeli army will be easily swept aside by the Iranians, because it has no capability of operating logistically and is already faced with a population that is asking for an end to compulsory military service.
“Young Israelis say they are tired of hearing the continual fear mongering and no longer find any of the ‘threats’ the Likudist regime harps about credible,” he said.
The analyst added that up to 50 percent of Israeli youth are refusing military service of which ‘ultra-orthodox’ Jews are already exempt.
“In an interview with a former US military attaché to Israel, I was told that only a few units of the Israeli army are ‘first-rate’ with the rest much less capable,” Duff added.
He argued that due to its fear of Iran, Israel may resort to any machination to get other countries engaged in a war on Iran.
“Israel is likely to try to precipitate a war on Iran by staging an attack on the US, its forces in the Persian Gulf region or on a European NATO target, most likely the London Olympics…. There has been highly credible information that an attack on the Olympics is planned,” he said.
After attacking the US ships in the Persian Gulf or the London Olympics, Duff added, Israel will use its powerful lobby in the US and international media to blame Iran for what had happened.
“With world economies on the edge of general collapse, any major conflict, particularly one that could draw in China or, worse still, present the United States in the role of aggressor and Israeli military surrogate again, would be historically unsustainable.” the analyst concluded.
