Fox News shocker: Benghazi rescuers told to ‘stand down’

According to a story appearing on “www.foxnews.com” today, “sources who were on the ground in Benghazi” have said that nearby CIA forces who heard firing at the Benghazi Consulate were told not to intervene, and available forces, including Delta Force operatives, were told to wait until long after it was too late to save the Ambassador.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is quoted as saying that “there was not a clear enough picture of what was occurring on the ground in Benghazi to send help”, but that did not stop nearby CIA operatives from rushing over anyway.

Their prompt action and evacuation of the beseiged consulate, regardless of orders to “stand down”, undoubtedly saved lives.  But, they were unable to locate the Ambassador, who had already been kidnapped and was later killed.

Panetta is also quoted as saying that “the basic principle here … is that you don’t deploy forces into harm’s way without knowing what’s going on”.  That sounds very shabby and hollow to me, and will undoubtedly encourage others who may be thinking of tweaking Uncle Sam’s beard.

Following the news of Ambassador Chris Stevens’ death, a massive media effort followed, blaming a film made by an Egyptian in California for the death, and for the subsequent rioting across the Muslim world in response to the film’s alleged “disrespect” towards the Prophet Mohammed.

And yet the film had been up on YouTube for some time prior to the incident occurring, without attracting any attention.

I smell a plot here, because in light of this staggering new information, there is absolutely nothing in this appalling chain of events to contradict the notion that the Benghazi event was staged by the White House to enhance President Obama’s re-election chances, and to evoke sympathy for Israel.

There is no proof that is in fact what happened, but I have seen too many “false flag” incidents over the years to believe it is impossible.  Indeed, I would be highly surprised were it to be proved otherwise.

Let’s see if any further information emerges in the next few days.
