“It seems to me that by issuing these leaflets, Israel is providing itself with an excuse ‘before the fact’ for causing mass civilian casualties. And if most of Gaza’s population is crammed into the centre of Gaza City, they will be sitting ducks for mistakes and accidents of war.”
In the short article “IDF Warns Gaza Civilians: Leave Immediately”, posted on the website of the “religious Zionist” radio station Arutz Sheva today, we are told that leaflets are being dropped on Gaza saying “For your own safety, you are required to immediately evacuate your homes and move toward Gaza City center”. The leaflets even specify which roads are safe to use.
This “requirement” is both unreasonable and impractical. In Gaza, some 1.7 million people are packed tightly together in perhaps the densest concentration in the world. How are the people to live when they get to the city centre? And why are hundreds of thousands of people being subjected to such horrendous conditions?
Is it because of the three Israelis killed by Hamas rockets after (and not before) the leader of the Hamas military wing was killed by Israel in a “targeted assassination” deliberately intended to cause an outbreak of violence? And if “hundreds” of rockets have been fired at Israeli population centres, how come there have been so few deaths and so little property damage?
There are those who believe that Israeli special forces fire rockets from Gaza at Israel to provide the necessary excuse for brutal Israeli aggression and ethnic cleansing. That may or may not be true, but the number of these rockets landing in empty fields is astonishing when one looks at the size of Tel Aviv. This is bizarre to say the least.
It seems to me that by issuing these leaflets, Israel is providing itself with an excuse “before the fact” for causing mass civilian casualties. And if most of Gaza’s population is crammed into the centre of Gaza City, they will be sitting ducks for “mistakes” and “accidents of war”.
Speaking of which, how could this possibly be called a “war”? We have on one side people possessing little more than small-arms and rockets that rarely hit anything, and on the other side, regular forces possessing the most up-to-date weapons including tanks, artillery, jet planes and drones, lavishly supported by the world’s one remaining superpower.
This is more like shooting frogs in a pond. It is ridiculously easy, with little likelihood of any meaningful consequence. Let’s not dignify it by calling it anything but what it is: A murderous, genocidal attack by Zionist supremacists who believe that God gave the world to them, and that they are the “chosen ones” who can steal land and kill and enslave others as they see fit.
More to the point, this murderous entity possesses several hundred nuclear weapons, together with biological weapons and other “weapons of mass destruction”. That, plus religious texts extolling mass killing and land theft, makes for a very dangerous mix.
In an ideal world, the Americans would recognise the dangers, and disarm Israel. As it is, the Israelis are able to have America provide them with endless funding and assistance, and a reliable veto thwarting any efforts by world bodies to bring an end to its murderous rampages.
Watch for a ground invasion of Gaza, and possible attack on Syria, later this week when Americans are busy enjoying Thanksgiving. And if the latter doesn’t invite a military response from Iran, then Israel will force the issue with a “false flag” attack or some other ruse.
Russia and China can be expected to intervene or risk losing their multi-billion dollar investments in Iran’s oil industry and infrastructure, and even if they remain on the sidelines, the dramatic increase in oil prices resulting from an attack on Iran will bring the world economy to a grinding halt.
Israel’s blatant aggression and supremacist religion are putting the world at severe risk of world war, and could ultimately end civilization as we know it.
And the reason I am including this post in my “Israel Lobby” category, is because without the lobby and it’s influence over politicians and the press, I don’t believe that the rest of the world would allow Israel to act in the way that it does.
